I started writing in a journal a couple years ago to see if I couldn’t find meaning and purpose in my everyday life. As that began to develop into something more, I realized I was creating something that could be worth sharing. After reading “The Creative Act” by Rick Rubin I learned it could be selfish not to share your art, your creation. However, I do not consider myself to be a writer or an artist (until I read Rick’s book). I am not formally educated. Nor am I rich or famous, no Instagram followers or socials here. I write for myself. For my own growth and development. Above all I take what I read from books, hear from people and podcasts, see and feel on runs and then put the pen to paper not knowing what will come of it.
Subsequently I have no motive other than to learn and be a better person. My only goal here is to share with the reader what I am learning myself. What I am observing in my own life. Take the time to think about it.
In Sharon Lebell’s 1994 new interpretation of “The Art of Living”, Epictetus give us guidance use of books.
“Don’t just say you have read books. Show that through them you have learned to think better, to be more discriminating and reflective person.”
Everyday Life
My hope is that you find meaning and purpose in your everyday life through this blog. At the very least something to reflect on and grow as citizen of this world. As the reader you can expect to hear from events in my own everyday life from parenting to current social issues, and my own struggles with patience, being present, moderation and contentment.
As cliche as it sounds the idea for this site came to me in a dream. Someone kept repeating to me “Think about it for a minute” I went for a run and did think about it. In conclusion, if I really think about it, there has been much more good in my life when I’ve taken the time to think, to understand and to listen.
Feel free to join me on the journey and I hope it makes an impact to your world.

- Tipping CultureI’ve always been an advocate for tipping and tipping well if the service deems it. I think about the people out there making a minimum hourly wage, hustling to pay the bills, and making a better life for themselves. I never thought much about a 20 percent tip and 25 percent for excellent service. But have …
- Our Lives Are New ConceptsWe all think how we will get to retirement. Retire by the time we are sixty-five or sixty-seven, perhaps even sooner. I have hopes and dreams of getting there well before that age. We of course want to live to be old; the ripe old age of eighty-five or older. We’ve come to expect these …
